ColorVu is Hikvision's technology for colour video at night. A large-aperture lens, a high-sensitivity sensor and a soft white supplemental light let the camera keep colour when a normal camera would switch to black-and-white infrared.

How is ColorVu different from a camera with a white LED?
ColorVu combines a wide-aperture lens and sensitive sensor with the light, so the light can stay dim and still give colour. Ordinary white-light cameras rely on brightness alone.
Can a ColorVu camera still use infrared?
Smart Hybrid Light models (-LI suffix) carry both IR and white LEDs and switch between them. Pure ColorVu models use white light only.
Is there a ColorVu version for coaxial systems?
Yes. TurboHD ColorVu cameras use the DS-2CE prefix with -L style suffixes and work with TurboHD DVRs.
